We Have to Help Daddy!!!!
Mothers in despair, in tears, holding their children tight, teddies under arm and, a quickly thrown together suitcase… as they clambered over the rubble of what until a few hours previous, were their homes, their security, their stability, the very hub of vital mental and physical reassurances.
The footage showed Fathers kissing their children and wife's goodbye, as the family unit was separated. Fathers to war… Mothers and daughters heading off to an unknown destination in search of safety and security, facing the fears of being unable to provide… and a mind full of uncertainty, desperation and knowing of the images burned into the minds that no child should ever have to see.
Origin of A Little Girls Vision!
The origin of this project started with a 5yr old girl watching the early evening news on TV in England. The footage shown during the report, immediately resonated with Madison… young children of her age and, her school year group, fleeing their homes in Ukraine. Children visibly shaken, frightened…. shattered minds in emotional distress… living in daily fear for their lives and their families.
With tears in her eyes, Madison looked bewildered as she pleaded "We have to help! What can we do Daddy? They can have my toys, books and my blankets. Why is this happening to them Daddy? I can ask my friends at school to help. Her Daddy didn’t have all the answers.
So together, Madison and her Daddy put our thinking caps on.
Between March 20th and April 2nd, 2022, Madison reached out to children in Ukraine, Bulgaria, USA and the UK.

Milton Keynes girl, 6, joins Ukraine aid flight after charity idea
A six-year-old girl and her father have helped to deliver aid supplies to Ukrainian families after she decided she wanted to help.
Madison, from Milton Keynes, said she was upset to see scenes of the conflict between Russia and Ukraine on TV and started a charity with her dad Mark Baker, who works in aviation.
They chartered a plane from Luton Airport and flew to neighbouring Bulgaria with toys and supplies collected as part of their charity Hands Across the Skies.
Mr Baker said: "The need that we can sense here just by being in the room with the Red Cross and the Foundation for Good, it shows us that we're doing the right thing and gives us the momentum to continue.

On Wednesday 14th September 2022, Hands Across the Skies, The Amir Khan Foundation and 35 tonnes of UK donated Aid, departed the UK for Islamabad. Our Humanitarian Aid Airbridge Solution from the UK has been donated to the Amir Khan Foundation, for the benefit of the Children and families of Pakistan, who are enduring the Humanitarian Crisis which is rapidly unfolding as a result of catastrophic floods.
